One last thing

Lornie Road is next to MacRitchie Reservoir.

You might see monkeys near the bus stops. Don't feed them, and don't eat your snacks in front of them.

For travellers from afar

Camping at Lornie

Staying at 8 Lornie Road is a free option for those of you traveling from afar. Tian's grandparents' home is very old and now (kind of) empty for a giant, cozy sleepover. There are 3 bedrooms and toilets/bathrooms upstairs, 2 toilets downstairs.

We're keeping the bedrooms for larger families. Everyone else will be camping inside the house in shared spaces — like the living rooms, or anywhere you can roll out a bag. There are some mattresses. We'll be asking around for sheets, pillows, and fans.

You're welcome to pitch a tent in the garden if you prefer sleeping under the stars.

If you'd like to stay at Lornie, please fill in the form.

What to bring for yourself

  • A very lightweight cotton sleeping bag (anything heavier and you will be too hot)
  • Eye mask — the sun rises early and does not care about your sleep schedule
  • Earplugs — someone will snore. It might be you.
  • A small pillow if you're fancy
  • A torch or headlamp for midnight bathroom trips
  • Your own towel

About Yayok: Yayok is our helper who lives and maintains 8 Lornie Road. She is absolutely delightful and will be so helpful during your stay. She'll be cleaning the spaces before you arrive and after you leave. We suggest having a small cash gift for her when you leave if you feel like it.
